Vientiane - Luang Phrabang - Huay Xai - Chieng Khong - Chiang Mai

Day 1: Arrival – Vientiane (None)
Upon arrival in Vientiane Capital, you are met and transferred to your centrally located hotel. After a short rest, we start visiting the major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket, the temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. Over night in Vientiane.

Day 2: Vientiane-Vang Vieng (B)
After breakfast, Meet your guide at hotel lobby, then Drive out of town to Vang Vieng, about 3 hours from the capital. Once a key military airfield during the Indochina wars, the town’s central feature is the long-abandoned runway along the eastern side of town.  On the west side, a small river separates the town from the nearby caves & mountains, which can easily be visited from town. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Vang Vieng.
 
Day 3: Around Vang Vieng (B)
After breakfast exploring around the town visit Jang Cave through which flows a crystal clear stream. Locals used to hide inside during the Indochina War. Then enjoy a local long trail boat trip about 2-3hour explorning along the Song River to see the over view of the small town, visit snail cave, and Tham Xang. Overnight in Vang Vieng at same hotel.

DAY 4: VANG VIENG – LUANG PRABANG (B)
After breakfast, Drive to Luang Prabang about 5-6hours, drive passes through splendid scenery and past many panoramic lookout points on the winding mountaintop road. Short stop at Street Hmong Market at Phoukhoun Juntion, where Hmong sell many kinds mountainous vegetables.  There are several stops en route to take in the scenery.  Arrive in Luang Prabang, transfer to your hotel.

Day 5: Luang Prabang-City Tours (B)
After breakfast , enjoy the visit city tour includes visits to the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Mai and Wat Xieng Thong with it’s roof sweeping low to the ground.        Before dinner, take a walk to the top of Phousi Hill and take in the views of the city and the mighty Mekong River – the Mother River. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 6: Luang Prabang-Kuang Sii Fall (B)
After breakfast drive ahead out of town to the beautiful Kuangsi Waterfalls in the jungle.   En route we visit the local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, Ban Ou, Lao loum and Ban Thapene.  Return to Luang Prabang by late afternoon. Overnight at same hotel.

Day 7: Luang Prabang-Pak Ou Cave-Pak Beng (B/L/D)
LuangSay boat leaves Luang Prabang pier at 07h30 hrs for a cruise up the Mekong to Pakbeng. A continental breakfast is served while the boat is cruising to Pak Ou Village, at the mouth of the Nam Ou River, where you will visit the Tam Ting "Caves of a Thousand Buddha's". Have a buffet lunch on board then stop at a hilltribe village where you can watch the traditional process of Lao whiskey production. Arrive at Pak Beng around sunset and check in at LuangSay Lodge. Dinner on the terrace, overlooking the Mekong River.
 
Day 8: PAKBENG – HOUEISAY-Chieng Khong (B, L)
Full breakfast at the Lodge. At 07h00hrs board the boat for the second leg of the cruise. En route one stop is made to observe rural life along the Mekong and discover minorities, having a buffet lunch on board and continue to HoueiSay where you will arrive before 17h00 hrs . Cross Kong river to Thai immigration, overnight in Chieng Khong. Nam Khong River Side.

Day 9: Cheing Khong-Cheing Rai-Cheing Mai (B)
After breakfast, meet your guide and drive a head about 6hour to Cheing Mai. En route short stop in Cieng Rai, then continue to Cheing Mai. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. End of service.
