
Biking Throughout Vietnam Tour
Hanoi - Ha Long - Hue - Hoi An - Quy Nhon - Nha Trang - Da lat - Sai Gon
15 Days - 14 Nights
Day 1: HaNoi city tour (L)
City tour of HaNoi with visit to the temple of Literature, HoChiMinh mausoleum & museum, and museum of Fine Art. Exploring of HaNoi's silk, art and other specially shops. For lunch, dinner and Kem (ice cream), we retune once again to the idyllic HoanKiem Lake in the heart of HaNoi. Afternoon drive to HaLong bay.
Day 2: hanoi - Ha Long - Hue(B/L)
AM, 5 hours boat trip excursion of the bay. Lunch on the boat.. at pm return to HaNoi 35 km cycling on the No 18 road. Take overnight train to Hue.
Day 3 : HaNoi to Hue ( 20km +)
Morning transfer to Hotel and driving for visiting in the ancient Imperial Capital of VietNam set on the romantic Perfume River - arguably VietNam's most pleasant and picturesque city. While SaiGon and to a lesser extent, HaNoi, have seen heavy growth in the last decade, Hue remains largely untouched. After breakfast, we will test our bikes cycling along the tranquil Perfume River and through the high-walled Imperial Citadel, to the peaceful ThienMu Pagoda. Evening meal included local delicacies followed ice cream on the riverfront.
Day 4: Hue- Cycling( 45km)
Cycling through Hue's scenic countryside to the majestic KhaiDinh and TuDuc Royal tombs. A succession of Nguyen Dynasty Emperor built there grand tomb on a wide scale, scattered around the outlying hills of Hue and these two are wonderful examples. Afternoon free to explore the giant, bustling riverfront market and other attraction of rest up for the next day's journey. Day 5: Hue to HoiAn
Our "long group" will begin riding early in the morning while the rest of us will depart for the top of Hai Van. Pass by bus shortly after breakfast. Our route passes by rural villages and picturesque Lang Co lagoon, an ascent of the pass with stunning views of the coast and a thrilling 5-mile descent from the top of the green rice fields around DaNang, which we will skirt by on our way to HoiAn. Day 6: HoiAn
City tour of HoiAn - an ancient Japanese port of trade. Much of HoiAn's rare wooden architecture remain in this small, pleasant town. We will explore the legend pagodas, bustling riverfront marketplace and distinctive cuisine. Cyclo to CuaDai beach on the south China sea for a clam bake, VietNamese cooking lessons in town featuring local specialties by one of VietNam's most talented chefs, or free time on your own for boat excursion on the river
Day 7: HoiAn to MyLai/ QuangNgai
Depart early along the coast and past scenic rice village. Lunch near a "secret" Cham sight. Regroup at ChuLai, a former American military base, and board our buses for the drive in to the MyLai Memorial. Overnight just south in QuangNgai, a large nondescript port city
Day 8: QuangNgai to QuyNhon
Early coastal riding followed by lunch at the golden sands of Sa Huynh beach - which is also a nice place for a dip in the cooling South China Sea. Afternoon cycling past rural rice villages canopied by swaying coconut palm. Arrive at the Seagull hotel which faces a beautiful beachfront
Day 9: QuyNhon to NhaTrang
Our ride from QuyNhon to NhaTrang covers some of VietNam's scenic coastline, featuring deserted blue lagoons and stone promitories overlooking the water below. Fishing villages dot the coast here, Thien bays filled with brightly colored boats. Not many travelers her, so lot of attention can be expected. Lunch at scenic DaiLung beach. Overnight in Nhatrang
Day 10: NhaTrang
VietNam's finest oceanfront city. Half-day boat excursion to nearby island and a marine reserve. Snorkeling and swimming over flowering coral reefs in warm, clear water, followed by sunbathing and grilled seafood lunch. Cycling tour of NhaTrang, including Lon Song pagoda and PoNaGar Cham ruins. Dinner featuring shrimp spring roll, fried squid with pineapples, steamed crab, fresh fish and other seafood delicacies. Evening free to walk along the beach, have a massage or swim in the warm surf
Day 11: NhaTrang to DaLat
Morning bus shuttle past historic CamRanh bay to PhanRang - location of large a Cham ruins, ThapCham, and most of remaining, original inhabitants of VietNam - the Cham. Cycling from ThapCham along the flat to the six-mile climb up NgoanMuc Pass (which some of us will do in the bus) into the beautiful pine forest of the center Highlands around DaLat. Small villages and strawberry, carrot and other crops line the empty road passing into DaLat
Day 12: DaLat
DaLat - a beautiful colonial hill - station with cooler weather and some very interesting and sites, such as VienThuc pagoda, BaoDai palace and the Valley of Love. The gem of VietNam, DaLat was where the French came for relief from the heart of SaiGon - hundreds of well-preserved colonial villas cover the hill. Also a center for exotic game hunting - even Teddy Roosevelt had a villa here. Ride to see the Valley of Love and other local attractions including waterfalls and lakes. Afternoon city tour of the center marketplace, DaLat Cathedral, the artist community and numerous cafes. Overnight in the DaLat
Day 13: DaLat to BaoLoc/SaiGon
Our morning begins with a twisting six-mile descent from DaLat through pine forest to the rolling and gradually falling road to SaiGon. We'll pass by numerous coffee, tea, banana and rubber plantations planted in the rich, red earth that marks the Center Highlands as the place where VietNam's finest tea fields and crops unique to VietNam, like strawberries grow abundantly. We also pass by the ubiquitous churches in this unique and predominately Catholic area of VietNam. Just outside of SaiGon, the rubber trees originally planted by the French Colonialists are still harvested
Day 14: SaiGon
City tour of the vibrant, untouristed ChoLon's Binh Tay market, numerous pagodas, the SaiGon river front and several historical sites, including the Presidential Palace and the Revolutionary Museum. Afternoon free or sightseeing and shopping with guide. Bicycle packing, post-tour or departure arrangement. Last chance to buy postcards - available from many younger street vendors or take a ride in a cyclo, Farewell dinner
Day 15: Depart SaiGon
Morning transfer to TanSonNhat Airport for flight home.
End the Tour.

Notices:
- This tour follows a mix of asphalt roads, so some off-road riding skills are an advantage. You should be confident of your physical condition and bike handling skills.
Support
- One or two 16-seat air-conditioned transit vans converted to take bikes and bikers.
Group Size: Minimum 4. Maximum 12.
Staff: Groups of 6 or more a Vietnamese cycling guide and drivers and assistants. Groups of 4-5, an experienced English speaking Vietnamese cycling leader plus guide and support team.
Accommodation: Nights in comfortable tourist class hotels. All accommodation has a/c or fan, hot water and private facilities.
Meals: Meals are included as 14 breakfast, 2 lunch, 1 dinner. Break every 15- 20 km ( 10 miles) for tea break with water, coffee ,tea, juice, bread, tuna ,banana, apple... including

This itinerary allows for 15 field days on the cycling section. You will be able to decide for yourself at any time during each of these days how far you want to cycle. Average daily cycling distances are approximately 60 -100 km. These distances may vary according to weather, road conditions and group fitness and preferences. This is a sightseeing cycle tour, not a marathon or time trial.
